FIU Downtown on Brickell Student Code of Conduct
The following rules and procedures are general information, which must be adhered to while participating in classes at the FIU Downtown on Brickell (FDB) location:
• Classes will be held on the second, third or tenth floors of the South Tower, which are accessible from the elevator.
• Students must have their FIU student ID at all times while in the building. The ID is specific to each student and should, under no circumstances, be used by another individual.
• Food and beverages are limited to the dining room on the second floor of the North Tower.
Parking Policy
• You will need to purchase a parking transponder to gain access to the parking lot. The parking transponder provides access Monday through Friday, from 4:30PM to 11:00PM, and Saturdays from 8:00AM to 7:00PM. 1101 Brickell and FIU Downtown on Brickell is closed on Sundays.
• Parking transponders are non-transferable, and should not be removed from the registered vehicle.
• A non-refundable fee of $25.00 will be required to replace transponders. Please inform program representatives if you trade in your current vehicle. Valet staff for 1101 Brickell will collect payment and issue replacement transponders.
• Students issued a parking transponder are not eligible for parking ticket validation.
• Students must park above the 5th floor, and cannot park on any reserved spaces.
• Classes end by 10:30PM. The building and parking lot will close promptly at 11:00PM. Please note you are responsible for vacating the building and parking lot on time. Students who do not vacate the premises of FDB at the specified time will be issued a written warning. Three (3) written warnings will result in the loss of parking privileges for one (1) week. If student visits FDB during this time, parking will be covered at the violator’s expense.
• The parking lot is not property of Florida International University. The University assumes no liability for vehicles parked or operated in the parking lot, including any damage or theft that may occur.
• Students must, at all times, follow directions of building’s Security Personnel and FIU’s staff.
• The Student Code of Conduct describes the rules and expectations established by FDB for student conduct. Violation of parking regulations may result in disciplinary action up to and including the revocation of parking privileges.
Thank you in advance for you cooperation.
