2025 - 2026 IDH 3999 Application Request

ELIGIBILITY

IDH 3999 is a zero-credit internship course that does not count towards your upper division requirements but will appear on your FIU transcript.

It is available for Honors students pursuing an internship and who would like to enroll in a zero-credit course.

Students must properly research and vet an internship site before confirming participation and requesting credit. Please note, the University has no control or oversight of the internship site.

To be eligible, the internship must:

1) Consist of hands-on, practical experience that incorporates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom.
2) Provide skills and knowledge transferable to other opportunities.
3) Center around defined learning objectives related to professional/personal goals.
4) Be supervised by an established professional.
5) Take place during the entire duration of the academic semester and be between 30-40 hours a week.

For domestic students, it is critical that you submit this application as soon as you have confirmation that you secured an internship the semester before you request to take this course.

For international students, it is critical you understand that this course is zero-credits and does not count as an internship course toward your CPT application .

If you are seeking a credit-bearing internship course, please speak with your major academic advisor to see what options your department has. If your academic department does not offer an internship course for credit, apply to request to enroll in our IDH 3940 course.

For Summer C 2025, the deadline is April 28.

For Fall C 2025, the deadline is August 11.
