Pursuant to Executive Order No. 23-242, Chancellor of the State University System of Florida, Ray Rodrigues, has authorized all 12 members of the State University System to remove certain barriers to allow for non-Florida resident students to transfer to our institutions should they be seeking a safer place to continue their undergraduate education. The stipulations include that the applicant must be attending a degree-granting, out-of-state, accredited, institution of higher education; and provide the transfer institution with a personal statement or other supporting documentation to warrant the transfer.
Students seeking to transfer will be required to provide academic documents, a personal statement, and a complete application. In some cases, SAT, ACT or CLT standardized exams will be required. Applicants may be eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver providing for a reduced rate in tuition.
This does not provide for current students at the 12 state universities or state college system to transfer between schools through alternative channels. If you fall within this category, visit Florida Shines for details.
In order to be considered for these waivers and related directives, applicants must:
1. Submit your FIU application for admissions first, followed by submission of this form.
2. Qualify as an out-of-state transfer student (currently attending an non-Florida, degree-granting, accredited institution of higher education).
3. Demonstrate a well-founded fear of persecution on the basis of religion. This fear can be established by an applicant who can demonstrate that he or she has suffered, is currently suffering, or credibly fears suffering future discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or violence, either at their current institution or with a substantial nexus to their current institution, on the basis of religion.
