General Compensation Guidelines:
• Although an internship can be paid or unpaid, the SCJ Internship Program encourages employers to pay interns.
• Stipends, scholarships, and/or travel reimbursement may also be offered.
• An internship should not be viewed as “cheap labor” more as an opportunity to gain practical experience and skill development in the workplace.
• Paid internships need to meet the minimum wage standards for the state of employment.
