Due to the risk that sensitive health information could be potentially intercepted or altered in transit or mishandled upon receipt, FIU Student Health Clinics uses encryption or a secure link to transmit patient records in order to promote the confidentiality and integrity of patient information. FIU Student Health Clinics will only send records via unencrypted/unsecure channels upon specific patient request. We strongly discourage the use of analog faxing for transmission of sensitive health information.
